The K.O. Lee C13 Universal cylindrical grinding machine was designed to offer an affordable approach to cylindrical grinding of the simplest to the most intricate of applications.
Options, which included an internal grinding attachment, crossfeed digital readout, coolant systems, chucks, collet systems, etc., made the C13 one of the most versatile cylindrical grinding machines.
The variety of models available made the C13 at home not only in the toolroom, but also ideal for short run production needs.
Quality Construction
K.O. Le grinders were built from high quality castings. Each machine was designed, manufactured and assembled at the same location. A thorough inspection was performed by a Quality Assurance team, during and after machine build. In-house run-offs and quality inspections by the customer were welcomed.
C13 Cylindrical Grinder
Model C13
Manual operation of the table movement was provided by a 5:1 ration handwheel.
Infeed of the C13's wheel was provided be a large handwheel with clear graduations on an adjustable slip ring, and included a fine microfeed dial offering precise movement of the wheel for consistently accurate part size.
The swiveling table, headstock, and wheelhead enabled the C13 to be set up in a a multitude of configurations for almost any grinding application.
Model C13H
The C13H offered all the features of the C13 with the addition of automatic hydraulic operation of the table movement. The hydraulic system allowed infinitely variable table speed control. Table reversal positions were easily changed using two adjustable table stops. Controls were available for table reversal dwell.
To maintain the extreme accuracy of K.O. Lee grinders, the hydraulic pump mechanism was installed adjacent to the machine instead of within the base cavity to prevent heat buildup. The hydraulic power could be quickly disengaged for complete manual operation of the table if desired.
Model C13A
The C13A offered all the features of the C13H with the addition of an uncomplicated microprocessor-based automatic infeed system. This feature allowed the C13A to be set up in automatic mode for a totally hands-free grind cycle. Ideally suited for small production applications, the C13A was the answer to short run cylindrical grinding. Only six programmable parameters were necessary to completely specify a traverse of plunge grind cycle. The control featured total distance, rapid traverse, rough increments, fine increments, sparkout passes, and an automatic return to zero start position. Incremental feed was not limited and could be programmed from 0.000010" (0.0002 mm) to several inches (mm). Complete jogging and setup features were provided for quick change over of parts or wheels.
